If you're on the Isle of Wight visit 'The Breeze Restaurant' at Island Harbour Marina....

Last week I took a trip to the IOW to meet with Corinne Gillard the Boatshed IOW broker. We met at Island Harbour Marina which is a little gem situated on the River Medina, 2 miles south of Cowes. If you prefer the more tranquil side of boating and don't want the hustle and bustle of Cowes then you should pay a visit to Island Harbour and make sure you pop into The Breeze Restaurant.

It's the middle of February and Corinne and I had just had a great meeting with Darren Cooke, the Marina Manager. He kept us entertained with historic stories about the marina, the old paddle steamers and of course the Spice Bus which is currently stored at the marina. We were starving so headed over to the The Breeze for a spot of lunch.

It was a bit of a late lunch so they weren't very busy but we chose a table and were soon greeted with menus, although I already knew what I was going to have as I had been there before! There is a great choice of food at reasonable prices and even some February specials. The staff are helpful and friendly and we were soon tucking into a well deserved lunch.

Take a look at their menu to wet your appetite, there are a good selection of main meals as well as some lighter bites. Apparently the Sunday lunches are really good but make sure you book so you don't miss out!

There is a large seating area outside with patio heaters for the chillier days or if you take your four legged friend with you, as they aren't allowed inside the building. There is also a great play area for children in view of the seating area, which has plans to be extended in the near future.

Great place to visit whether you are a 'boaty person' or not - just don't tell everyone otherwise they'll all want to go!
