New Instructions – Vancouver 27 for sale

New Instructions – Vancouver 27 for sale

Monday, 10 December 2012

Boatshed Dartmouth are delighted to offer for sale a Vancouver 27. The Vancouver 27 was designed by Canadian, Robert B. Harris. In 1974 the first wooden hull was built in England, by Pheon Yachts, and shortly afterwards the design was changed to GRP, with a slight extension to the waterline beam. Due to the high build quality, the UK-built Vancouver 27s became a popular design, with around 250 built, before Northshore took over the design in 1986.The Vancouver 27 design is biased towards stability, ease of handling, load carrying ability and comfortable accommodation for a crew of one or two. This Vancouver 27 is well equipped and well presented. Her light wood interior is very pleasing and she benefits from a recently installed Beta engine. Thursday, 08 November 2012

Boatshed Dartmouth are delighted to offer for sale a incredibly well equipped Drascombe Longboat Cruiser. The Cruiser was a ‘week end cruiser’ version of the Longboat with the benefit of a cuddy cabin providing two full length berths. Along with the sprayhood and cockpit enclosure its quite possible to spend extended time cruising. This example has a very complete inventory including a full road trailer, recent covers and upholstery and many, many extras including navigation gear. Appointments to view can be booked in advance 6-days a week directly with Paul Singer your Boatshed Dartmouth broker.

New Instructions – Halmatic 30 for sale

New Instructions – Halmatic 30 for sale

Tuesday, 06 November 2012

Boatshed Dartmouth are delighted to offer for sale a Halmatic 30. First launched in 1979 the Halmatic 30 shares the same timeless seagoing qualities of the Nicholson 31. She is a heavy displacement cruiser with a high ballast ratio. In total over 200 were built. This Halmatic 30 has been in the same ownership since new. Unusually therefore I have on file much of the original documentation. She is now in need of a new owner to breath new life into her but once she has been updated she should be good for many years to come. Appointments to view can be booked in advance 6-days a week directly with Paul Singer your Boatshed Dartmouth broker.

New Instructions – Sadler 29 for sale

New Instructions – Sadler 29 for sale

Wednesday, 31 October 2012

Boatshed Dartmouth are delighted to offer for sale a Sadler 29. The Sadler 29 yacht is part of British yachting history. Over 380 were built between1981 and 1994 and the design has firmly established itself as one of the all-time favourites of her size. Though conceived as a fast cruising yacht, like all Sadlers the 29 has a surprising turn of speed. However, she sacrifices none of her good manners, or easy handling qualities to achieve this. Like her smaller sister, the 29 has a deep, well protected cockpit and a rig which is exceptionally easy to manage for short-handed crews. After spending some time onboard I would suggest that she is in need of some cosmetic updating. When that is completed though she will serve her new owner well and present herself very well indeed. Appointments to view can be booked in advance 6-days a week directly with Paul Singer your Boatshed Dartmouth broker.

New Instructions – Sadler 32 for sale

New Instructions – Sadler 32 for sale

Monday, 15 October 2012

Boatshed Dartmouth are delighted to offer for sale a Sadler 32. The Sadler 32 evolved from the hugely successful Contessa 32, also designed by David Sadler. The Contessa 32 was a real classic of its time, with elegant lines, low profile and superb heavy weather performance. However, in 1979 David Sadler designed the Sadler 32 to deal with the shortcomings of the Contessa 32, being limited accommodation through low headroom and narrow beam, sluggish light weather performance and rolling downwind. The result was the Sadler 32, which embodied several innovative features and represented an important "milestone" in cruising yacht design. About 300 Sadler 32s were built over a ten year period from 1979 to 1989. The boat proved enormously popular and is one of the best cruiser/racers still available today. This example was one of the last to be built by Sadlers and has had just one owner from new. She is well presented and has been well maintained Appointments to view can be booked in advance 6-days a week directly with Paul Singer your Boatshed Dartmouth broker

New Instructions – Jeanneau Arcadia for sale

New Instructions – Jeanneau Arcadia for sale

Sunday, 14 October 2012

Boatshed Dartmouth are delighted to offer for sale a Jeanneau Arcadia. The design does not really date at all and down below the open plan layout is full of plenty of wood. The aft cabin and separate heads to starboard ensure good space for family or friends. There are folding doors to shut off the forecabin so its not completely open plan. In summary, overall a good design with no surprises. And I suspect she has quite a decent turn of speed as well. Appointments to view can be booked in advance 6-days a week directly with Paul Singer your Boatshed Dartmouth broker.

New Instructions – Westerly Konsort for sale

New Instructions – Westerly Konsort for sale

Tuesday, 25 September 2012

Boatshed Dartmouth are delighted to offer for sale a beautifully presented Westerly Konsort. Rarely do yachts of this quality come to the market – well cared for, well maintained and presented perfectly. When I stepped on board it was clear that the owners had either spent a lot of time cleaning her or they keep her in this condition all the time. I suspect the latter. You don’t get bilges looking that clean without looking after them all the time. I asked the owners for a comment: “ …is one of the best equipped and best condition Konsorts we have seen during our travels to Holland, Belgium, France, Channel Islands London and the West Country. She is fitted with "in mast" reefing which enables all main sail operations to be carried out from within the safety of the cockpit this has proved itself invaluable during deteriorating weather conditions when reefing is required.” I understand that the owners even raced her occasionally and nearly got run out of the club for winning so frequently! New Instructions – Contessa 34 for sale

New Instructions – Contessa 34 for sale

Monday, 24 September 2012

Boatshed Dartmouth are delighted to offer for sale a Contessa 34 Offshore One Design. Doug Peterson drew up a hull design that was clean, free of distortions and genuinely fast. However as many owners will agree these are comfortable cruisers as well. Stepping on board this example on a fine, bright sunny day it was apparent that this yacht has been used and enjoyed by the past and current owners who are looking to go up in size. She would benefit from some updating but she is a Contessa and can still turn on some speed and as the current owners wrote “… sails superbly and is a very quick boat.” She will shortly be lifted and subject to acceptable offers the vendors will include winter storage and re-launch in March 2013. Appointments to view can be booked in advance 6-days a week directly with Paul Singer your Boatshed Dartmouth broker.

New Instructions –Windy 7800 for sale

New Instructions –Windy 7800 for sale

Thursday, 13 September 2012

Boatshed Dartmouth are delighted to offer for sale a Windy 7800. Not often seen in the UK these are really good looking boats – classic lines that don’t date and plenty of good Windy build quality too. It was a fine summer day when I photographed this boat and she presented herself as a clean, tidy, well cared for boat. On great days like this is when the spacious cockpit and the aft sun deck come in to their own. But there is a reasonable cabin too with a galley area and flushing heads for when the weather is not so good or you want to stay out over the weekend. Appointments to view can be booked in advance 6-days a week directly with Paul Singer your Boatshed Dartmouth broker.

New Instructions – Warrior 40 for sale

New Instructions – Warrior 40 for sale

Tuesday, 11 September 2012

Boatshed Dartmouth are delighted to offer for sale a Warrior 40. This fine, semi-long keel cruiser evolved from the Angus Primrose designed Voyager 38. Bill Dixon designed what was in effect a stretched version with encapsulated ballast and roomier interior. For a 40’ yacht the interior space is excellent especially with the C Layout (features the large forecabin, twin aft cabins, twin heads and nav station in the port aft cabin). When I first went onboard I was impressed by the excellent presentation of this yacht, the high standard of maintenance and of course the splendid Volvo D2-55 engine installed in 2004. With a cutter rig, in mast furling and everything led aft this is a great yacht to sail and is offered with an excellent inventory. Appointments to view can be booked in advance 6-days a week directly with Paul Singer your Boatshed Dartmouth broker.

New Instructions – Kent 27 Motor Sailer for sale

New Instructions – Kent 27 Motor Sailer for sale

Friday, 07 September 2012

Boatshed Dartmouth are delighted to offer for sale a Kent Motor Sailer. These are very sturdy motor sailers with good accommodation featuring a separate heads forward, good size galley and saloon and enough light and space to even be a live aboard. This example has been laid up ashore for a few years now but has been covered over with a full custom boat cover. Clearly much attention has been lavished on her and receipts are on file for standing rigging and an engine overhaul. A bit of tidying up and freshening up and she could be ready to go. Appointments to view can be booked in advance 6-days a week directly with Paul Singer your Boatshed Dartmouth broker.
