I met Steve and Kaz at the Southampton Boatshow 2015 during 'fizz@five' when Jeanne Socrates (oldest woman to sail solo around the world non-stop) popped over to see us and bring her inspiring friends along to our stand. Steve Pointon a Royal Navy Chief Petty Officer is setting sail to circumnavigate the UK in his boat 'Tikka' with the aim to raise £10,000 and awareness of the work of Action for Children, a charity which works in local communities across the UK to make disadvantaged children's lives better.

How quickly can you organise a RIB RALLY in the Solent? Well it only took a few days, dedicated friends and the sun to shine to convince everyone it was a good idea.
We had a great day being towed around the Solent by our Rib-X eXplorer 600, with my mates and some cool toys, a two person Ringo, my Wakeboard and my GoPro camera to record some cool shots.
The first "first of the season" impromptu BBQ was held at Hamstead Point Beach by Newtown Creek on the Isle of Wight. Amazing fun, great turn out with 7 boats, over 25 people, children and dogs. With the first great weekend weather, sunshine and a light breeze from the east, and tides perfect for a lunchtime BBQ with High water around lunchtime, we jumped at the chance for this social with the team from Rib-X and Boatshed.
Another thing we are committed to at Boatshed is reducing the costs of boat ownership for our customers. A Pursuit, as its name implies, is not a race. It is an opportunity to test the mettle of your boat against others. This is achieved by boats starting in groups, smallest first, with the aim of finishing at about the same time. The course starts at Gilkicker and goes round the Nab Tower and back, 20 miles.
