About Riikka Currie-Smith
I started working with Boatshed in March 2021.
What did you do before working with Boatshed?
Ever since boarding a sailing boat for the first time in my teens, the sea has played an important role in my life. I have lived by the sea for the last three decades.
After qualifying as a RYA Day Skipper in my early thirties in Brixham, the waters of the South Devon coast have become my second home. The last ten years running a successful tourism business entailed spending a substantial amount of my time in London, but to make sure I still felt ‘at home ’in the big city my London home was first a 50 foot wide beam barge followed by a Bavaria 50 sloop rigged yacht which was sailed back from Cyprus to London.
What do you enjoy most about working with Boatshed?
Now back in Devon full time - I am delighted to have the opportunity to join the Boatshed family !
Are you a motorboater or a sailor?
An avid scuba diver, keen paddleboarder and a co-owner of many a sailing boats and motor-sailors over the past 30 years
What was your first/most enjoyable/worst boating experience?
Sailing our Bavaria 50 back from Cyprus.
