Try A Boat Free! returns to the South Embankment, Dartmouth Bank Holiday weekend Saturday May 25th and Sunday May 26. The event is open from 10am to 4pm and a choice of boats will be ashore and on the water. Qualified skippers will be taking visitors out on pre-booked trips so if you fancy a high speed RIB ride in one of our sponsors Ribeyes, make your way to the South Embankment. We will also have experts on hand to talk to you about buying and owning a boat and operating it safely including where to get the all important boat handling tuition.

Yachts, tenders, launches and even a Brixham Trawler
A wide range of other boats will be available for short pre-booked trips including the beautiful Duchy 27 launch by Cockwells, the Salcombe Launch 16 from Frogmore Boatyard, Cornish Crabbers 17 and on Sunday May 26th, 'Pilgrim' the recently restored Brixham trawler will be open to visitors as part of the Try A Boat event. South Devon College (event sponsors) will be bringing their Beneteau 381, a range of RIBs and much more. Students and apprentices from South Devon College Noss Marine Academy will be helping throughout the event.

To find out more please visit the British Marine Federation South West website. The BMF South West organise Try A Boat Free with sponsors Ribeye Ltd and South Devon College. Trips must be pre-booked on site on the day at the event Reception desk. There is no charge for trips and we encourage you to ask questions as qualified experts will be on hand. Lifejackets are provided and a safety briefing is given before every trip out. Its easy to find us outside Dartmouth Yacht Club which will be open all day for refreshments and food.
