Provisional details awaiting owners approval
Boatshed Dartmouth are pleased to offer for sale this MG Spring 25. These are surprisingly big-feeling 25-footers, with a double berth aft cabin tucked in under the cockpit, and an light, open, saloon. Her wing keel and twin rudders give her shallow draught and excellent performance. MG Yachts started life as primarily a builder of racing boats, but sold a number of fairly high performance cruiser-racers through the 1980s, mostly designed by Tony Castro.
Tony Castro designed the prototype of the wing-keeled, twin-rudder Spring 25 in 1987/88. The Spring 25 then went into production in the UK, Brazil and Australia. About 150 were built in the UK. They are, like all Castro designs, fast boats, and have a lot going for them as a small family cruiser, particularly for those moving up from dinghy sailing, who might find more traditional small cruisers sluggish. 'Yachting Monthly' once described the performance as "sparkling".
